UK-competitor secures multi-million cash injection

February 25, 2007

For those of you who read the internet press, you cannot have missed the fact that Zubka, a UK website offering a referral recruitment platform similar to Xpertize, has secured a multi-million cash injection from Benchmark Capital Europe, the top-tier venture capital firm behind eBay, Betfair and Bebo.

The most interesting aspect of this cash injection for us is that people are now aware that e-recruitment 2.0 will significantly modify the old-fashioned recruitment market. Commenting the news, Klaus Hommels, venture partner at Benchmark Capital Europe, said the following: “We instantly recognized that Zubka could transform the traditional job-hunting market in the same way eBay changed the trading marketplace”.

Xpertize creates buzz in the press

February 19, 2007

Dear readers,

The last two weeks have been really exciting for us because we’ve had a truly positive presence in the press.

It all started with a journalist of the most read newspaper in the French-speaking part of Belgium taking contact with us because he was writing a study about the difficulties encountered by companies to find appropriate resources. Xpertize.be and its brand-new referral hiring concept in Belgium was thus presented as an innovative method of finding hidden candidates through the personal recommendation of their friends. The electronic version of this article can be viewed here: http://www.lesoir.be/actualite/belgique/2007/02/09/article_bienvenue_dans_l_e_recrutemen.shtml

At the end of last week, L’Echo, Belgium’s leading business newspaper also decided to publish an article about Xpertize.be, which was described as “Site of the week”. This article can be seen at: http://www.lecho.be/mon_entreprise/multimedia/t-zine/article.asp?Id=2710535

Talk to you later!

E-recruitment 2.0. is hype!

February 4, 2007

Since we are in this market, lot of similar initiatives are popping up. Everywhere in the world! But we are still the first in Belgium. Business models are similar but often not exactly the same. Offered rewards are very different but we are in the most generous ;-)

Let’s have a look and begin with Europe.
France: www.jobmeeters.fr, www.cooptemploi.fr, www.cooptin.fr.
UK: www.jobneters.com, www.jobtonic.com, www.zubka.com
Netherlands: www.spotajob.nl, www.notes.nl, www.newpeople.com

I’ve also seen a similar initiative in South AFrica but I cannot remember URL. In the States also:
www.h3.com, www.yorz.com, www.karmaone.org, www.jobster.com

Some might say that companies like Linked-in, OpenBC, Viaduc,… are competitors but I don’t totally agree. These are wonderful networking tools but not focused on jobs search (and not offering rewards).

If you know other similar initiatives, please let us know! Thank you.
